Black Panther is surpassing the $500 million mark in worldwide gross on Thursday. The Marvel Cinematic Universe film added $14.5 million domestically on Wednesday along with the same amount overseas, bringing its totals to $277.5 million in North America and $213.6 million overseas for $491.1 million worldwide. That means the film will have hit $500 million worldwide after just nine days.

Thus far, this puts Panther at #11 among MCU films in domestic gross and #12 in international figures. It will leap way up that chart by Sunday, as it is projected to become only the fourth film ever to gross $100 million domestically in its second weekend. That would be likely to have it at $400 million by the end of the weekend which would have it at #5 domestically and perhaps even higher.

The Ryan Coogler-directed blockbuster stars Chadwick Boseman, Danai Gurira, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis.
