Black Panther Returning to Theaters With Free Screenings for Black History Month

Black Panther, which won the SAG Award for for Outstanding Cast this week, is set to return to theaters in February with free screenings. Walt Disney Pictures and Bob Iger announced the news this week.

In celebration of Black History Month, the film will be running in theaters from February 1-7 at 250 participating AMC Theatres and locations. Details on tickets and the available theaters are available at WeTicketIt.com.

To commemorate the occasion, Walt Disney Company has announced that it will donate a $1.5 million grant to support the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) in furthering its mission to help minority students access and move to and through college.

Speaking on the news in an official press release, Walt Disney Company Chairman and CEO Bob Iger stated: “Black Panther is groundbreaking for many reasons, including the rich diversity of voices behind its success. The story also showcases the power of knowledge to change the world for the better, and the importance of ensuring everyone has access to it. We’re proud to provide thousands of free screenings of ‘Black Panther’ in hopes it will continue to inspire audiences, and to support UNCF with a $1.5 million grant to make the dream of higher education a reality for more students.”

The film stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, with Angela Bassett, with Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis.stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B.
