Bobby Moynihan Leaves Saturday Night Live

May 18, 2017 | Posted by Joseph Lee

Variety reports that Bobby Moynihan has departed Saturday Night Live. His final episode will be the season finale that airs this Saturday. It will be hosted by Dwayne Johnson with musical guest Katy Perry.

Moynihan’s departure is due to the fact that CBS picked up his comedy show Me, Myself & I for the 2017-18 season. This was his ninth season on the show, one of the longest-running cast members in history. Of the current cast, only Kenan Thompson has been there longer. His characters included Drunk Uncle and secondhand reporter Anthony Crispino. He also impersonated Chris Christie, Guy Fieri, and Snooki.

Me, Myself & I is a single-camera comedy that follows a man’s life over fifty years, with Moynihan playing him at age forty. Kapital Entertainment will produce with Warner Bros. Television. Writer Dan Kopelman is executive producing with Aaron Kaplan, Dana Honor, and Randall Einhorn, who directed the pilot.
