The Boondock Saints are making their return to theaters, with the original film hitting screens to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Iconic Events announced on Tuesday that the fan-favorite 1999 action-thriller will hit the big screen on November 7th and 10th in 500 theaters nationwide.

The screening will be of the movie’s unrated director’s cut and include a post-film Q&A with writer-director Troy Duffy, who will also give an update on new Boondock Saints projects.

The Boondock Saints stars Norman Reedus and Sean Patrick Flannery as a part of brothers, Connor and Murphy MacManus, who turn into violent vigilantes on a mission to rid Boston of underworld crime. Willem Defoe and Billy Connolly co-starred in the movie which became a cult classic, earning its provide off word of mouth on home video. It was followed by a sequel in 2009 and a third film has been reported to be in development.

“When my film was blacklisted by Hollywood, the whole industry wrote it off,” Duffy said, “but then something spectacular happened. A silent explosion on home video occurred and people found it, loved it and turned Boondock Saints into the highest-grossing cult classic in the last 25 years. It is genuinely astonishing how passionate the film’s fans are. And this 25th anniversary presentation is the first time many of them will be able to see it on the big screen!”

Tickets to the film can be bought here.
