Bounty Hunter IG-88 To Appear In The Mandalorian

In a post on Instagram, Jon Favreau revealed that the robot bounty hunter IG-88, who first appeared in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, will show up in The Mandalorian. You can check out the new image he revealed of the classic bounty hunter below.

The series was written and executive produced by Favreau. Directors include Dave Filoni, Deborah Chow, Rick Famuyiwa, Bryce Dallas Howard and Taika Waititi. Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson and Karen Gilchrist are the executive producers. The series stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog and Nick Nolte.

Here’s a synopsis: After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

The first season will consist of ten episodes and reportedly has a budget of $100 million. It will make its debut on Disney+ some time in late 2019.
