A major talent shift occurred on Tuesday in the comic book world, as Marvel mainstay Brian Michael Bendis has signed exclusively with DC Comics. DC announced on Tuesday morning that Bendis, who has been a major shaping force for Marvel in the last seventeen years was coming on board:

Bendis began his work for Marvel back in 2000 when he took on Ultimate Spider-Man, reimagining Peter Parker’s origin. He has had highly influential runs on a ton of books including the Avengers in “Avengers Disassembled” and the New Avengers run that pushed the team to a long-absent level of prominence within the Marvel Universe. He since went on to write such books as X-Men, Iron Man, The Defenders and more. His creation of Jessica Jones and the book Alias was a major success, as were the creations of Miles Morales and, more recently, RiRi Williams (aka Ironheart). He was also responsible for some of Marvel’s biggest (and, in some cases, most controversial) events like House of M, Secret Invasion, Siege, and Civil War II.

There’s no word on which book or books Bendis will work on with DC.
