Jordan Peele’s Candyman film is reportedly set to begin production in August. JoBlo reports that the “spiritual sequel” to the 1992 horror film, which Peele is producing, will begun shooting on August 20th in Chicago, with plans to wrap filming by September 20th.

The film is directed by Nia DaCosta and stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen and Teyonah Parris, with Tony Todd hinting that he might have a role in the film. It will return returns to the neighborhood where the legend began: the now-gentrified section of Chicago where the Cabrini-Green housing projects once stood, and is set to release on June 12th, 2020.
