According to The Hollywood Reporter, casting notices for Showtime’s upcoming Halo series reveal that the show will include the video game franchise’s most popular character, Master Chief. Master Chief (aka Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy John-117) is described as a “Spartan-like warrior of large build.” The character’s face is never seen in the games, usually hidden by his green armor and helmet. The character, a genetically enhanced super soldier, is listed as a series regular.

Other characters include Dr. Halsey (possibly Catherine Halsey from Halo: Reach, Halo 4 and Halo 5: Guardians) and Jenny, an Asian woman between the ages of 18-20. There is no Jenny in the games. Halsey, meanwhile, is the creator of the SPARTAN-II program, who produced the soldiers and the Mjolnir Powered Assault Armor. The casting notice wants a character between the ages of 55-65. At that time in the character’s life, she was working to protect the Spartans instead of just raising them for war.

A premiere date has not been set for the series. Production will begin in June in Budapest. Kyle Killen is the executive producer, writer and showrunner. Showtime has yet to actually comment on the casting notices.
