Chris Evans is hanging up the star-spangled suit. Evans told The New York Times in a new interview that Avengers 4 will be his last film as Captain America.

The site reports that with his Marvel contract coming to an end after Avengers 4, he will conduct the planned reshoots in the fall and then has no plans to return. He told the site, “You want to get off the train before they push you off.”

Evans has been moving to other ventures including starring on Broadway in Lobby Hero opposite Michael Cera, and will direct another film after he’s done with Cap. There has been a lot of speculation that Steve Rogers will die in either Infinity War or the sequel, but that has not been confirmed at this point.

The Avengers: Infinity War opens on April 27th, with the as-yet-untitled Avengers 4 opening on May 3rd, 2019.
