Chris Rock’s Saw Reboot to Begin Production Next Week

The Saw reboot from a story by Chris Rock is set to begin filming next week. Director Darren Lynn Bousman noted on Twitter that the film will begin production “in just a few days,” as you can see below. Bousman directed the second through fourth films in the franchise.

The film comes from a story by Rock, with Pete Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg executive producing. Rock is, according to longtime franchise producers Mark Burg and Oren Koules, putting is own spin on the franchise “in the way Eddie Murphy put a completely fresh perspective on buddy-cop films with 48 Hours.”

The new film is set to release on October 23rd, 2020.
