Cocaine & Other Opiates Found in Carrie Fisher’s System

– It was reported over the weekend by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office that Carrie Fisher died from sleep apnea and a combination of other factors, but investigators haven’t been able to pinpoint an exact cause. Other factors that contributed to Fisher’s death was buildup of fatty tissue in the walls of her arteries, and the actress showed signs of having taken multiple drugs.

TMZ now reports that Fisher had cocaine, morphine, codeine and oxycodone in her system when she was hospitalized after suffering a massive heart attack on board a flight to LAX in December. The Los Angeles County coroner’s office has released the full autopsy, including toxicology, and it revealed the above list of drugs. Also, there was a very little amount of MDMA (commonly known as ecstasy) and heroin discovered through a urine analysis. The dose and time both drugs were taken could not be determined. At this time, it’s unclear how much of a role, if any, the drugs played in her death.
