Colin Trevorrow Confirms Leaked Star Wars Episode IX Concept Art
Leaked concept art from Star Wars Episode IX began circulating around the internet in recent days. The concept art was rumored to be from Colin Trevorrow’s scrapped version of Episode IX that was titled Duel of the Fates. Colin Trevorrow was originally attached to write and direct the sequel, but he was later let go from the project and replaced by J.J. Abrams. Previously, Trevorrow wrote and directed Jurassic World, and he also co-wrote its sequel.
Taking to social media, Trevorrow confirmed the art came his scrapped version of the film that was never realized onscreen. One image suggested that R2D2 was going to be shot and seriously damaged. Trevorrow clarified that his intent was not to kill R2D2, he was only going to take a bad hit. You can check out his tweet on the subject below.
More details regarding Trevorrow’s jettisoned screenplay for Episode IX are available in Robert Meyer Burnett’s YouTube channel.
Yes, this is from Duel of the Fates. But I’d never kill R2…he just took a bad hit. Happens to all of us. https://t.co/ekGMRUdV2g
