In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Daisy Ridley (Rey in the new Star Wars trilogy) hinted that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will reveal more about who Rey’s parents are.

“The parents thing is not satisfied — for her and for the audience,” she said. “That’s something she’s still trying to figure out — where does she come from?”

She added that Rey believes there is more to the story of her parents than what Kylo Ren told her — that her parents were “filthy junk traders” who “sold you off for drinking money” and that they’re “dead in a pauper’s grave in the Jakku desert.”

“It’s not that she doesn’t believe it. But she feels there’s more to the story. And she needs to figure out what’s come before so she can figure out what to do next.”

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker opens in theaters on December 20th.
