DC Confirms That James Gunn Is Writing Suicide Squad 2

DC has released a new episode of DC Daily which confirms that James Gunn will write the script for Suicide Squad 2. It does not mention whether or not he will direct. It says that Gunn will give a “completely fresh take to the franchise.”

A script was completed by director Gavin O’Conner and writers Todd Stashwick and David Bar Katz, but it was deemed to be too similar to Cathy Yan’s story for Birds of Prey, according to CBM. Gunn was rumored for the job a few days ago and he already has the blessing of Suicide Squad director David Ayer.
