TMZ has more details on the active shooter at Youtube headquarters yesterday in San Bruno, California, identified as Nasim Aghdam. She was shot in the chest and killed. The police dispatch audio said there was a woman down with a gunshot wound to the chest, who was the suspect. Another officer confirmed a handgun near her body. It’s believed the gunshot wound was self-inflicted.

Early reports stated 37 people were injured, although San Bruno Police Chief Ed Barberini said that only four were taken to the hospital from gunshot injuries. One of the victims was a 36-year-old male who was said to be the Aghdam’s boyfriend. Two others were women ages 32 and 27. The shooting is being investigated as a domestic dispute. During the shooting, one employee tweeted he heard gunshots and saw people running while at his desk. He said he barricade himself and co-workers in a room before they were later evacuated. Youtube employs close to 2,000 people at the building where it happened.

According to reports, she was a former content producer for the service and posted clips slamming Youtube for age restricting her videos and limiting the views she received. She claimed a workout tutorial she posted was censored due to her beliefs. She added that she contacted Youtube support multiple times about both censorship and age restrictions. She claimed that they told her the videos had inappropriate material. She then included videos of Nicki Minaj and Miley Cyrus, pointing out their content wasn’t as censored as hers. Other videos she posted featured her in traditional Muslim apparel.

At this time it’s unknown exactly why she began shooting at Youtube headquaters, but as mentioned, it’s believed to be a domestic incident.

TMZ adds that Aghdam actually had an encounter with police hours before the incident happened. Her father Ismail said her family reported Nasim as missing. Eventually Mountain View, California police found and contacted the family yesterday morning. Mountain View is thirty miles from Youtube.

Police stated that everything is “under control” although Ismail claims he told them she might go to Youtube, as she “hated” them for censoring her. Officers found Aghdam asleep in her car in a parking lot. After running her plates, they saw it matched the description from a missing report. They ended up notifying her family and stated everything was fine. The shooting happened hours later.
