In a post on Twitter, Variety reporter Justin Kroll shared more details on Quentin Tarantino’s next film. Tom Cruise will play a stuntman in the film, while Leonardo DiCaprio will play the neighbor of Sharon Tate. The film is expected to take place in the same time period as Tate’s murder, where she and other people were brutally killed by the Manson Family. The post also mentions that Roman Polanski (who was married to Tate) will be a character in the film, and Tarantino is seeking a Polish actor to play the role for authenticity.

Here’s a synopsis: Set in Los Angeles in the summer of 1969, Tarantino’s upcoming movie focuses on a male TV actor who’s had one hit series and his looking for a way to get into the film business. His sidekick—who’s also his stunt double—is looking for the same thing. The horrific murder of Sharon Tate and four of her friends by Charles Manson’s cult of followers serves as a backdrop to the main story.

Margot Robbie is in talks to play Tate, while Al Pacino is in talks for an unspecified role, which was written for him by Tarantino. The film will be released on August 9, 2019, the 50th anniversary of the murders.
