A director is reportedly set for the planned biopic on “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. Speaking on the This is Important podcast late last year, Kyle Newacheck (Workaholics) said that he was attached to direct the biopic, which he said that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Seven Bucks production company is producing along with Jimmy Kimmel’s Jackhole Productions.

“The Rock’s company is doing ‘Rowdy’ Roddy, which I’m actually attached to now,” Newacheck said (per Fightful). “They came to me with the idea of doing a ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper project. It’s with The Rock’s company and Jimmy Kimmel’s company. I am attached to direct it. They’re not looking for another director at this time because if, and when it gets made, I am the guy. We’re all about casting right now.”

Newacheck made the comments back in November, but they didn’t get noticed until now. There’s no word on what if any progress has been made in the last couple of months. Piper, a WWE Hall of Famer, passed away in 2015 at the age of 61.
