A couple more 2020 films have been pushed back in the wake of COVID-19, as action-comedy Free Guy and mystery sequel Death on the Nile have both been bumped from the schedule. Walt Disney Studios has taken the two 20th Century Studios films off the December release slate; Free Guy was set for a December 11th release while Death on the Nile was scheduled for December 18th.

Free Guy is directed by Shawn Levy and stars Ryan Reynolds, Jodie Comer, Lil Rel Howery, Joe Keery, Taika Waititi and Utkarsh Ambudkar. It follows Guy, a lonely bank teller who discovers he is actually a background character in an open-world video game entitled Free City and works to prevent the makers of the game from shutting it down with the help of an avatar.

Death on the Nile is the follow-up to 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express and stars Kenneth Branagh as Hercule Poirot along with Tom Bateman, Annette Bening, Russell Brand, Ali Fazal, Dawn French, Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer, Rose Leslie, Emma Mackey, Sophie Okonedo, Jennifer Saunders, and Letitia Wright. It is described as follows:

“Belgian sleuth Hercule Poirot’s Egyptian vacation aboard a glamorous river steamer turns into a terrifying search for a murderer when a picture-perfect couple’s idyllic honeymoon is tragically cut short. Set against an epic landscape of sweeping desert vistas and the majestic Giza pyramids, this tale of unbridled passion and incapacitating jealousy features a cosmopolitan group of impeccably dressed travelers, and enough wicked twists and turns to leave audiences guessing until the final, shocking denouement.”
