A new Star Wars series is in the works for Disney+ from the co-creator of Netflix’s Russian Doll. Variety reports that Leslye Headland, who is the co-creator and showrunner of the Netflix series, is on tap to develop a new female-centric series that will take place in a different part of the Star Wars timeline than other projects.

Deadline has added some details, noting that the series will be an action thriller with martial arts elements. Interestingly, Deadline also says it’s an “alternate timeline from the usual Star Wars universe” which has a very different implication than “different part” of the timeline.

The series joins Obi Wan and the Cassian Andor-led prequel series to Rogue One as Star Wars shows in development at the streamer. The Mandalorian is reportedly in pre-production for its third season, with the second season set to premiere later this year.
