At yesterday’s blockbuster Disney+ Showcase, Lucasfilm and Disney revealed the official trailer for the highly anticipated, episodic, live-action Star Wars television series, The Mandalorian. Disney and Lucasfilm also provided us with some new photo stills from the upcoming series, which you can see below.

The new images confirm the name for Gincarlo Esposito’s character. He appears to be betraying an ex-Imperial crime-lord or warlord named Moff Gideon. There’s also a new Ugnaught character named Kuiil. If you remember, Ugnaughts were the alien creatures working on Bespin in The Empire Strikes Back.

Also, while we initially suspected that IG-88 was going to appear in the show, it’s actually a new IG droid character named IG-11. Taika Waititi, who is also serving as a director for the show, is portraying IG-11.

The series will bow on November 12, the same day as the service’s official launch. It stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog and Nick Nolte and is described as follows:

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

Disney+ marks the company’s first direct-to-consumer streaming service. In addition, 411 is in attendance at D23 and is sharing pictures, live-tweeting panels and more. You can follow the @411mania Twitter account to get all the information you need as it happens.
