Disney is set to give The Muppets another go for a series on their upcoming streaming service. THR reports that the studio is set to reboot the franchise for a new show, with a writer currently being sought. This would be the latest attempt to revice the franchise on television following a failed ABC series that ran for sixteen episodes in the 2015 – 2016 season before its cancellation due to low ratings.

The new Muppets series is one of several Disney-related brands being brought to their upcoming service. Shows from Star Wars, High School Musical, and Monsters, Inc. are on the way, as well as a Mighty Ducks reboot. THR reports that film remakes of The Parent Trap, Father of the Bride and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids are under consideration.

The Disney streaming service is expected to launch sometime in the fall of 2019.
