The Doctor is about to come up against a more formidable enemy than ever before: Amanda Waller. Deadline reports that Peter Capaldi, best known for his run as the Twelfth Doctor on Doctor Who, is joining the cast of James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. Pete Davidson (Saturday Night Live) is also reportedly in talks for a small cameo.

Details on Capaldi’s role, like much of the film, is being kept well under wraps. Capaldi joins a cast that includes returning players Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), and Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag). Other new cast members include Idris Elba, David Dastmalchian (Polka-Dot Man), Daniela Melchior (Ratcatcher), Flula Borg, Nathan Fillion, Taika Waititi, and Steve Agee (King Shark). There were reports that John Cena would play a role, but those still have yet to be confirmed.

Gunn is writing and directing the film, which is set for an August 6, 2021 release.
