Don Johnson in Talks to Join Cast of Rian Johnson’s Knives Out

Deadline.com reports that Don Johnson (Miami Vice) is in advanced talks to join the cast of Rian Johnson’s upcoming mystery film, Knives Out. Johnson’s deal for the project is reportedly almost finished. his schedule is being worked out as he’s also working on the HBO Watchmen TV series.

Johnson would join the cast alongside Craig, Evans, Michael Shannon and Lakeith Stanfield. MRC is financing the picture, which Rian Johnson will write, direct and produce with his producing partner Ram Bergman.

Plot details on the project are still vague, but it’s described as a modern-day murder mystery similar to an Agatha Christie whodunit style. It’s not yet clear who Shannon might play.

A studio is not yet attached to distribute the project. MRC plans to package the film out to buyers in the coming weeks. Shooting is expected to start later this November.
