Donald Trump Campaign Video Removed by Warner Bros. For Using Dark Knight Rises Score

Warner Bros. took legal action to remove a video posted to Twitter by Donald Trump which used the score from Dark Knight Rises. Variety reports that the video which was posted by Trump, which came from a (now-removed) YouTube video by Matey Productions titled “President Donald Trump 2020 trailer.”

The original video had over 68,000 views and gained popularity after being posted on the pro-Trump subreddit /r/The_Donald. T%rump then posted the video on Tuesday. It featured Hans Zimmer’s score from the Christopher Nolan-directed Batman film as well as the font used for the film’s title cards to read, “First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they call you a racist. Donald J. Trump. Your vote. Proved them all wrong. Trump: The Great Victory. 2020.”

Warner Bros. said in a statement before the removal, “The use of Warner Bros.’ score from ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ in the campaign video was unauthorized. We are working through the appropriate legal channels to have it removed.”
