Donald Trump Once Said Oprah Winfrey Would Be His Pick For Vice-President
As we reported yesterday, following Oprah Winfrey’s speech at the Golden Globes, a lot of people are calling for her to run for President, although she has said that she’s not planning to at this time. It may surprise you to learn that at one point in time, current President Donald Trump thought Oprah would be a good fit for the White House. Uproxx unearthed a clip of Trump talking to Larry King in 1999, in which Trump said that Oprah would be his first choice for vice-president.
He said at the time: ““I’ll tell you, she’s really a great woman. She’s a terrific woman. She’s somebody that’s very special. If she’d do it she’d be fantastic.”

You may think that 1999 is ancient history, and his views may have changed since then. However, in 2015, he told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that he would “love to have Oprah” as a running mate as they were friends.
