Dune To Make World Premiere at Venice Film Festival

Dune is set to make its grand debut at the Venice Film Festival in September. THR reports that the Denis Villeneuve-directed adaptation of the Frank Herbert IP will have its world premiere out-of-competition at the 78th Venice International Film Festival on September 3rd.

The film stars Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zendaya Coleman, David Dastmalchian, Chang Chen, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Charlotte Rampling, Jason Momoa and Javier Bardem. and is headed to theaters and HBO Max on October 1st. It is described as follows:

Dune tells the story of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet), a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence — a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential — only those who can conquer their fear will survive.
