Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page is going from period drama to fantasy, scoring a leading role in the Dungeons & Dragons movie. THR reports that Page, who starred as Simon Basset in Netflix’s hit series, has joined the Paramount Pictures adaptation of the iconic roleplaying game. He joins a cast that includes Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, and Justice Smith.

Details on the D&D film have yet to be revealed, though a report from late 2019 suggested that it could involve the Eye of Vecna, a well-known artifact from the popular tabletop roleplaying game’s lore.

The film will be directed by Duo Johnathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, who are also writing the script based on a draft by Michael Gilio. Paramount and Hasbro are also reportedly developing a separate television series based on D&D.

The Dungeons & Dragons film is currently set to release on May 27th, 2022.
