Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Releases Statement on Passing of Chadwick Boseman, Pays Tribute to Actor

As noted, renowned actor Chadwick Boseman, best known for his work as T’Challa/Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, passed away yesterday after battling colon cancer. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson released a statement on Boseman’s passing, paying tribute to the fellow actor via social media. You can view The Rock’s statement below.

Johnson wrote in his message, “Hard to hear about this. Rest in love, brother. Thank you for shining your light and sharing your talent with the world. My love and strength to your family.”

Chadwick Boseman was first diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016. He continued working and appearing in films “during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy.” Besides his work in the MCU, he also portrayed the role of Jackie Robinson in 2013’s 42 and James Brown in Get On Up. He was 43 years old.
