New Evil Dead Title Revealed, Rumored to Take Place in Office Building or Sky-Rise

We have a title for the new movie in the Evil Dead franchise, and it looks to be going higher — physically higher — this time around. Bloody Disgusting reports that one of their contributors, Jimmy Champane has learned that the new film will take place in a office building or a sky-rise setting.

The news comes after producer Bruce Campbell revealed in a new interview in which he said that the title of the new film was Evil Dead Rise. In the interview, Campbell said that a new draft was coming in and filming wouldn’t begin until next year. He added that the movie was “A whole, new ballgame. No more cabin in the woods.”

As of now, the news is still strictly a rumor and comes from only one source that Champane has spoken to. Champane has broken news in the past. He also notes that he was told this when Campbell initially said the title was Evil Dead Now and not the new title.

The film will be directed by Lee Cronin (The Hole in the Ground). Casting details or plans have yet to be revealed.
