Famke Janssen Not Expecting to Play Jean Grey in MCU, But Would Be Open To It

While she knows it isn’t likely, Famke Janssen would be all for reprising her role as Jean Grey in the MCU. Janssen spoke with The Observer for a new interview discussing the 20th anniversary of the original X-Men and was asked about whether she’d be up for playing Jean, who she co-starred as in the first three films as well as a Days of Future Past cameo.

“I think the question is more if they would have any interest in bringing me back,” Janssen said. “With Days of Future Past, there was a surprise way of reintroducing certain characters that had been killed off. In some people’s cases, it was to bring them back as well as the younger versions of their characters. I’d be curious to see what happens. But, yes, I would be very open to it.”

Marvel has been their usual quiet selves about their future MCU plans, including how the X-Men will be implemented now that Disney owns the franchise. Janssen isn’t the only person to discuss the film’s 20th anniversary; Hugh Jackman shared a throwback video a couple of days ago about the film.
