With the Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer releasing earlier today, fans have done the inevitable: scour it for clues to Avengers: Endgame. The Marvel/Sony Spider-Man prequel is set to release on July 5th, a few months after Endgame arrives on April 26th. That fact has led fans to start picking through the trailer to see if they can find anything that hints at the fate of their favorite Marvel characters in Endgame, and suffice it to say…there’s a lot.

While it is unclear how Nick Fury and Peter Parker (and everyone else who does) come back from Thanos’ fatal snap in Avengers: Infinity War, what the trailer does make clear is that Peter and Fury have not met at the time of this film. While some have questioned whether this takes place before Infinity War the same way Ant-Man and the Wasp did, producer Amy Pascal said in 2017 that Far From Home starts “a few minutes after Avengers 4 wraps as a story.”

Fans have noticed, as you can see in the posts below, that Marvel is being coy about the timing, as Peter’s passport in the trailer doesn’t show a year on its dates. People have also made note of the fact that Avengers Tower appears to be being rebuilt, with some speculating that could become the Baxter Building of Fantastic Four fame. That, however, is probably unlikely. Marvel head Kevin Feige has said that they haven’t been able to work on integrating the Fantastic Four and X-Men franchises, as the Disney/Fox deal isn’t yet complete.

Finally, fans are taking note of the lack of Tony Stark in the trailer. The giant check Happy brings in is signed by Pepper Potts, and the one line people are attributing to Tony is actually Happy. None of that is conclusive — after all, Tony signed his company over to Pepper, making her the CEO, in Iron Man 2. But with Robert Downey Jr.’s contract done as of Endgame, it has fans worried.

We’ll know for sure when Endgame and Far From Home open. Oh, and there’s Captain Marvel before that. It will be a very MCU first half of 2019.
