The first images are online from CBS All-Access’ upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s The Stand. Vanity Fair has released the first look at images from the upcoming limited series, which stars Alexander Skarsgård as Randall Flagg, James Marsden as Stu Redman, Amber Heard as Nadine Cross, Greg Kinnear as Glen Bateman, Whoopi Goldberg as Mother Abagail, Owen Teague as Harold Lauder, and Heather Graham as Rita Blakemoor, among many others.

The Vanity Fair preview notes that the nine-episode series actually had to wrap production four days early due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The images in the gallery below show off Skarsgård, Teague, Odessa Young as Frannie Goldsmith, Nat Wolff as Lloyd Henreid, Jovan Adepo as Larry Underwood and Graham, as well as Goldberg as Abagail. The site also noted that the chronology of the book will be switched up a bit so that it doesn’t play out quite as linearly. The plague will have already struck when the show starts and we’ll see flashbacks to the character’s pre-pandemic lives.
