Another Marvel Television series is at an end, as Cloak & Dagger has officially been cancelled. Deadline reports that Freeform has decided to cancel the series, with options on the cast expiring this week.

The first season of Cloak & Dagger was a hit for Freeform and garnered good reviews. However, ratings sank for season two and with the season (now series) finale airing five months ago, this was not unexpected.

Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph will be seen as Tyrone and Tandy again, however. Both characters will cross over to the third season of Marvel’s Runaways, which premieres in December. It’s worth noting that this news comes as Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb is readying his exit by the end of the year, and Marvel Television is being reorganized under Marvel Studios. That said, it is Freeform who decided to cancel the series and not Marvel.

“We are so proud of Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger and the trailblazing stories this series told,” Freeform said in a statement to Deadline. “We are also grateful to our incredible talent Oliva Holt and Aubrey Joseph for bringing these beloved characters to life, and showrunner Joe Pokaski for his vision. We’d like to thank our partners at Marvel Television for a wonderful two seasons and are we are hopeful that we can find another project together.”
