FX Renews Pose For A Second Season

Coming Soon reports that FX has renewed Ryan Murphy’s series Pose for a second season. The series has the largest cast of transgender actors in series regular roles ever for a scripted series, and the largest recurring LGBTQ cast ever. The cast includes Mj Rodriguez, Dominique Jackson, Indya Moore, Hailie Sahar, Angelica Ross, Billy Porter, Charlayne Woodard, Ryan Jamaal Swain and Dyllon Burnside.

Here’s a synopsis: Set in the 1980s, Pose explores the juxtaposition of several segments of life and society in New York: the ball culture world, the rise of the luxury Trump-era universe and the downtown social and literary scene. Evan Peters and Kate Mara play New Jersey couple, Stan and Patty, who get sucked into the glamour and intrigue of New York City in the 1980s. James Van Der Beek plays Peters’ financial kingpin boss Matt.

The series was co-created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Steven Canals. Murphy directed the first two episodes. It’s executive produced by Murphy, Falchuk, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Alexis Martin Woodall and Sherry Marsh. Canals is a co-executive producer, and Janet Mock, Our Lady J, and Erica Kay also produce. It was produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions. The next episode airs Sunday, with the season one finale airing on July 22 at 9 PM ET.
