Game of Thrones: The Last Watch Gave New Details How Arya Killed the Night King

Arya Stark went down in history as the woman who put an end to the Night King at last, and now we know how she made that giant leap at him. HBO aired their Game of Thrones: The Last Watch documentary on Sunday night, which featured footage from the final season’s table reads.

During the footage, Bryan Cogman was reading the non-dialogue portions of the script, which revealed that Arya’s improbably long and high leap was actually done off the backs of the Night King’s re-slain army. As Uproxx notes, the stage directions in the script as read by Cogman said, “The Night King walks with methodical, terrifying calm. He stops before Bran and raises his sword to strike, but something is hurtling towards him out of the darkness. Arya. She vaults off a pile of dead wights, leaps at the Night King and she plunges the dagger through the Night King’s armor. The Night King shatters.”
