The next James Bond may come from the graveyard of Game of Thrones. Consider the source and take a few grains of salt as a result, but the Daily Mail reports that Richard Madden is set to be offered the role. The site notes specifcally that Bond producers are “on the brink” of approaching Madden, who played Robb Stark on Thrones for the spot and will do so within the next few days.

According to the site, Madden’s role in the limited BBC One series Bodyguard helped make him the top choice. Eon Productions’ Barbara Broccoli, who has the final say on who plays Bond, supports Madden for the role.

Broccoli recently said in an interview that, long-standing rumors to the contrary, Bond will not be played by a woman. She said, “Bond is male. He’s a male character. He was written as a male and I think he’ll probably stay as a male.”

Daniel Craig will play Bond in the next film, which begins filming in March under the direction of Cary Fukanaga.
