Game of Thrones, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Win Big at 70th Annual Emmy Awards

The 70th annual Primetime Emmy Awards were given out on Monday, with Game of Thrones, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and American Crime Story coming out on top. Amazon’s Maisel took top honors with five Emmys including Best Comedy Series, while The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story scored four big wins. HBO’s epic fantasy returned to the Emmy stage after a year off and picked up two: Best Drama and Best Supporting Actor for Peter Dinklage.

Game of Thrones wasn’t the only HBO series to come home with gold, as Westworld’s Thandie Newton won Best Supporting Actress in a Drama. In addition, Last Week Tonight With John Oliver won best Variety Talk Series and Barry took home wins for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy (Bill Hader) and Best Supporting Actor (Henry Winkler).
