Game of Thrones Returns for Its Final Season in 2019

The wait for the next season of one of TV’s most beloved shows will be a bit longer this time. HBO today confirmed that the hit fantasy series, Game of Thrones, will return for its eighth and final season later in 2019. The final season will consist of six episodes.

Season eight for the epic dark fantasy series will feature David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, David Nutter and Miguel Sapochnik as episode directors for the new season. The writers for the new season are David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, Bryan Cogman and Dave Hill.

Game of Thrones executive producers are David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, Carolyn Strauss, Frank Doelger and Bernadette Caulfield. Co-executive producers are Bryan Cogman, Guymon Casady, Vince Gerardis and original author George R.R. Martin.
