Godzilla vs. Kong Moves Up Two Months to March
We’ll be able to see Godzilla vs. Kong a lot sooner than expected, as Warner Bros. and Legendary have moved the film up to March. The two companies announced that the film will now release on March 26th, two months sooner than the originally scheduled May 21st release date.
The move comes after the studios struck a deal to keep the kaiju film to WarnerMedia’s plans to release their 2021 film slate day-and-date both in theaters and on HBO Max. The move puts the film in a spot where it will not be facing the competition that it would have in May.
Godzilla vs. Kong will follow on the events of Kong: Skull Island and Godzilla: King of the Monsters, as the two icons go face to face with humanity (as always) caught in between. The film stars Alexander Skarsgard, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Kyle Chandler, Brian Tyree Henry, Shun Oguri, Eiza González, Jessica Henwick, and Julian Dennison and is directed by Adam Wingard.
The film was originally set to release in May of last year before being delayed to November 2020 and then May of this year due to the pandemic.
