HBO Max Content Chief Says Peacemaker Will Arrive on HBO Max in January 2022

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, HBO Max Content Chief Casey Bloys revealed that the upcoming DC Universe show, Peacemaker, will be hitting the streaming service in January 2022. Production for the spinoff, featuring WWE Superstar John Cena reprising his role from The Suicide Squad, began last month.

Bloys noted on the series, “I just started to get involved with the DC content in August. Peacemaker is one of the first shows I greenlit and one of the first shows coming out, in January 2022.” He added, “It’s a great example of what HBO Max can do with DC content in that we’re producing at a level we haven’t seen DC content on TV do thus far.”

The Suicide Squad, also featuring Cena as Peacemaker, hits theaters and HBO Max on August 6. Writer director James Gunn revealed he wrote the first season of the spinoff.
