The Witcher star Henry Cavill appeared on last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he showed an action-heavy sword fighting clip for the new, upcoming Netflix TV series. You can check out a video of Cavill’s appearance on the show, along with the clip, below.

According to Cavill, he didn’t use a stuntman for this sequence. He stated, “I do my best not to have a stuntman. On this, I didn’t use as a stuntman at all. For me, it was — it’s really important that the character exists within the action as well, rather than just an acting scene, and then you have an action scene, which is completely separate, and then you’re back to the acting again. It’s really important that the story and character travel through all of those things.”

Kimmel then joked about Tom Cruise shaming him into doing his own stunts after they worked together in Mission: Impossible – Fallout. Cavill jokingly replied, “Yeah. Suffering for it every day.”

Based on the best-selling fantasy book series Andrzej Sapkowski, the upcoming show will center around a famed monster hunter, Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill). The show is set in the world of The Continent, which is a place where humans, elves, witchers, gnomes, and monsters battle to survive and thrive, and where good and evil is not easily identified.

The upcoming series also stars Jodhi May, Björn Hlynur Haraldsson, Adam Levy, MyAnna Buring, Mimi Ndiweni, Therica Wilson-Read, and Emma Appleton. It debuts on Netflix on Friday, December 20. All eight episodes for the first season will be available at launch.
