Lionsgate is moving ahead with his planned Highlander reboot with the script completed. Ryan Condal (Colony) wrote the new film and, per Deadline, has handed the script in to the studio.

Lionsgate Motion Picture Group boss Patrick Wachsberger said, “We’ve finally got a screenplay we’re happy with. We have set up the story so it has sequel potential.” Chad Stahelski (John Wick) will direct the film, which is a new take on the 1986 action film about a race of immortals who can be killed only by decapitation and have fought to take each other’s power for centuries.

The original film turned into a full-fledged franchise with four sequels and TV spinoffs. Lionsgate is believed to be planning a trilogy for the reboot.
