Hulu is diving deep into Clive Barker’s Books of Blood horror collection with a feature film that has Seth McFarlane set to executive produce. THR reports that Hulu is working on a film that will adapt three stories from the six-volume short story collection, with Brannon Braga (The Orville) directing. He is co-writing the film with Adam Simon, with whom he co-created WGN’s Salem.

McFarlane will executive produce along with Braga and Simon, Erica Huggins, Alana Kleiman, Brian Witten, Jeff Kwatinetz, Josh Barry and Barker. The feature film will air on Hulu and will star Anna Friel, Britt Robertson, Rafi Gavron and Yul Vazquez.

Friel and Gavron will be featured in one story; Friel will play Mary, a psychologist who has gained fame for debunking theories and beliefs not based in science, who finds her position shaken when she meets Simon (Gavron), a man who claims to speak for the 7-year-old son she lost to leukemia. Robertson will play Jenna, a hypersensitive girl who suffers from misphonia (phobia of sound), in a second story. And Vazquez will feature in the third as Bennett, a professional killer whose latest target clues him in to a priceless book that could allow him and his wife to retire.

The film is aiming for a fall 2020 premiere.
