Deadline.com reports that writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade are set to return to script the planned Bond 25 installment of the James Bond 007 franchise. The writers have been attached to the franchise in some way, shape or form since 1999’s The World Is Not Enough. Per the report, both writers are turning their treatment of film into a script following director Danny Boyle’s exit from the project.

Purvis and Wade are said to be taking elements from their treatment of the film and Boyle’s own script and working them into the movie.

EON and MGM are currently searching for a new filmmaker to helm the project. Such names rumored to take over include
Edgar Wright, Yann Demange, and David Mackenzie. The release date for the film has not yet been changed. It’s currently scheduled for a November 8, 2019 release. However, the report notes that “many believe” the release date will change once a new director comes onboard.

Purvis and Wade were credited for Pierce Brosnan’s last Bond film, Die Another Day. They’ve also been credited for their work on Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, and Spectre.
