Jamie Foxx To Star In Spawn Reboot

Variety reports that Jamie Foxx is set to star in Todd McFarlane and Blumhouse’s upcoming reboot of Spawn. McFarlane, creator of the comic series, will write and direct, as well as produce with Jason Blum.

Spawn, a dead mercenary/soldier who becomes a hellspawn with special powers, was created in 1992. A film version was created in 1997 starring Michael Jai White, but it was critically panned. HBO also produced an animated series with three seasons (six episodes each) that won two Emmy Awards.
