A lot of films have been pushed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but Jason Blum is still hopeful that Halloween Kills won’t be one of them. The follow-up to 2018’s Halloween is currently set for an October 16th release, but with theatrical business still uncertain and no trailer yet, there’s been some speculation that the film may not release on time. Blum said during an interview with EW that Blumhouse hopes that isn’t the case.

Asked about the film, Blum said, “Well, we’re trying to get that trailer out and trying to get that movie out before the end of the year. That’s our hope, dream, and plan. We’ll see.”

The film stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Robert Longstreet, Charles Cyphers, Anthony Michael Hall, Kyle Richards, and Nancy Stephens and will follow the events of the 2018 Halloween.
