Jennifer Connelly In Talks For Top Gun 2 Role

Jennifer Connelly is in talks to play the lead female role in Top Gun 2. THR reports that Connelly is in negotiations to play a single mother who runs a bar near the Naval base.

Connelly would join Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer, and Miles Teller in the film. Cruise and Kilmer are reprising their roles from the original, while Teller is playing Goose’s son, now grown up. The film is reportedly set in a world of drone technology and fifth generation fighters along with exploring the end of the era of dogfighting.

Joseph Kosinski will direct the film from a script by Peter Craig, Justin Marks and Eric Warren Singer. Production begins in September, with a July 12th, 2019 release date set.
