John Carpenter Says He’s Scoring Next Two Halloween Films
John Carpenter will be back to provide the score for the next two Halloween films, according to the legendary horror director himself. Carpenter spoke with ComicBook.com and confirmed that he will score Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends, which will release on successive Octobers in 2020 and 2021.
“I loved it, It was a lot of fun,” Carpenter said of scoring last year’s Halloween. “And I’ll do the score, do a new score. That’s always fun.”
Carpenter then clarified he was officially on board and not just in talks, saying, “I’m on board. Let’s go.”
The director has scored several of his own films and recorded three albums over the past several years. He returned to the Halloween franchise last year for the first time since Halloween III: Season of the Witch which he provided the score on.
Carpenter added that the process to greenlight the new films (which he is also a producer on) was much easier than previous experiences, noting, “Everybody, after Halloween was a big hit, everybody said, ‘Oh, let’s do it again.’ So it was easy.”
