John Wick Screenwriter To Write Pilot For Hitman TV Series

November 14, 2017 | Posted by Joseph Lee

Deadline reports that Hulu is set to take a crack at adapting the Hitman games with John Wick trilogy screenwriter Derek Kolstad handling the pilot for a new series. Kolstad will also executive produce with Fox 21’s Bert Salke, Jane Francis, Gloria Fan and Kira Innes, along with Adrian Askarieh, Chuck Gordon and Hulu’s Jordan Helman. The streaming service is hoping that Hitman can become a flagship show.

The IO Interactive series has sold over 25 million copies since its launch in 2000. It follows Agent 47, an assassin with a “mysterious backstory.” Fox has already released two films with the character: 2007’s Hitman and 2015’s Hitman: Agent 47. The idea with the show is to stick closer to the games’ mythology. The latest self-titled game has sold seven million copies with two more games in development.
