It seems as if another trip to Jumanji is in the cards, as producer Hiram Garcia has confirmed early development has begun on the film. Garcia spoke with ComicBook.com and was asked about the franchise, which was revived to great success with Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Jumanji: The Next Level.

“You know, we’re always having conversations, and that’s a family, that entire group if there’s ever been,” Garcia said. “It’s hard to imagine or remember a time I’ve been on a set where it’s just a beloved group of cast and crew and actors and that’s just one of those things where we know we have a really big idea that we want to do with it. We’ve been discussing it.”

Garcia added, “There’s conversations have been going we’re in the process of moving that along. I can’t tell you anything, but we do have big plans for it and that’s one of our favorite projects to work on and that’s cooking away.”

A fourth film is not at all a surprise, as the two Jumanji sequels have grossed a combined $1.7 billion worldwide against a total production budget between the two of $215 million. Both films have been popular with critics and fans, making another film a foregone possibility.

The two films were directed by Jake Kasdan and starred Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan as the video game avatars of four teens (played by Alex Wolff, Ser’Darius Blain, Madison Iseman, and Morgan Turner) who get trapped in the game — now a video game — and must find their way out by solving the quest.
